March 30, 2010: The Walmart Foundation, in partnership with the National Disability Institute's Real Economic Impact Tour, One Economy and United Way celebrated the arrival in Southeastern Michigan of the MyFreeTaxes.com National Tour, bringing free tax preparation and services directly to consumers in Detroit. The announcement was made at Detroit's Accounting Aid Society, a long-time partner of the Internal Revenue Service Volunteer Income Tax Assistance and the Real Economic Impact Tour. Dr. Johnette Hartnett from the National Disability Institute along with Julie Garcia from IRS SPEC, Laura Scherler, United Way Worldwide, Lee Davenport, OneEconomy, and Diane Behnke, Market Manager, Walmart touted the praises of the unique collaboration that is touring the United States during the 2010 tax filing season.
