HHS, HUD Partner to Allow Rental Assistance to Support Independent Living for Non-Elderly People with Disabilities

NOFA Released: On April 7, 2010, HUD released a Notice of Funding Availability announcing the availability of funding for new vouchers for non-elderly people with disabilities including:
-
Category 1: an estimated 4,300 vouchers for non-elderly disabled households on a Public Housing Agency (PHA) waiting lists; and
-
Category 2:
an estimated 1,000 vouchers to enable non-elderly households with
disabilities to transition from nursing homes and other health care
institutions into the community.
Applications are due to HUD by
July 7, 2010.
