Last week, the National Community Tax Coalition (NCTC) held their bi-annual conference, "Mapping the Future". Team members from National Disability Institute’s Real Economic Impact Tour (REI Tour) participated at the conference.
NDI's Director of Strategic Partnerships and Research, Dr. Johnette Hartnett, serves on the steering committee for NCTC. Michael Roush, National Program Director for the REI Tour was a presenter on a panel titled "Strategies on Offering Financial Education to Persons with Disabilities" along with Dr. Hartnett and REI Tour partners, Lucy Gorham, Senior Program Director, MDC, Inc. Chapel Hill, NC and Larry Garcia, President, El Paso Affordable Housing.
Katie Metz, Regional Specialist for the REI Tour was also a presenter at the conference. Ms. Metz presented on "Making your VITA Site Accessible to Persons with Disabilities" along with Karen Hamilton from the Southeast DBTAC.
Kate Bradley, Social Media Consultant for NDI also presented at the conference in a session titled"Mapping the Social Future: Tips, Tools and Tricks to Enhancing Your Online Presence and Leveraging the Networks of Others." Also presenting in this session was Cassie Salinas, Marketing Director for One Economy, NDI's parter in the MyFreeTaxes.com campaign.
