Disability Initiative Workgroup Members

Goodwill

Goodwill Industries is one of the main partners in the Macon Coalition. The partner has agreed to promote the Disability Initiative in the surrounding area. Goodwill is currently distributing disability brochures to clients and partners. This partner is also a designated free tax preparation site for the Macon-Bibb County area.

United Way

United Way of Central Georgia is the lead organization for the Macon Coalition. This partner has taken an active role in the Disability Initiative. UW has agreed to distribute disability brochures in the Macon area. In order to maximize coverage, the organization is also encouraging other community partners to distribute brochures.

Weed and Seed (Athens, GA)

During the month of March, this partner will give a Disability Initiative presentation to local organizations. The partner has also made arrangements to distribute brochures throughout the Athens-Clarke County community.

Family Connection (Bainbridge, GA)

Located in rural Georgia, this partner has truly embraced the Disability Initiative. During the month of January, the organization sponsored a free tax preparation event for visually impaired taxpayers. This event was a collaborative effort with another non-profit organization. Approximately forty (40) taxpayers were assisted.
