Goodwill Columbus will add tax return preparation to their existing outreach activities by becoming a VITA site and/or providing referral information for clients with disabilities.
United Way Central Ohio is leading the efforts of the Franklin County EITC Coalition and has developed strategies for a county-wide disability initiative. United Way has made brochures, flyers, posters and is distributing the materials to local disability agencies. Tax assistance information is broadcast on VOICE Corp radio for the vision impaired.
Through the Community Affairs Director of Columbus City Council we will engage the Mayor’s Office on Disability in the county-wide efforts led by the Franklin County EITC Coalition. The Franklin County EITC Coalition is distributing a survey to all taxpayers visiting coalition VITA sites which will be a measurement tool for the outreach efforts. United Way Central Ohio is leading the outreach efforts by contacting local disability organizations and distributing information.
