Disability Initiative Workgroup Members

Goodwill

Dallas Goodwill will host two VITA sites for their workers and open to the community. Dallas Goodwill has also hired an outreach Coordinator to deliver Tax Credit information with an emphasis on EITC. Fort Worth GoodWill has partnered with Wyatt High School to support a site at the school. Workers from all of their facilities will be encouraged to use this site with the possibility of Goodwill providing transportation for their workers to the location on a special event day for the workers.

We have contacted The ARC of Dallas and The ARC of Fort Worth, both would like financial literacy workshops.

Mayors Office - Office on Disability

Fort Worth Mayor’s Office hosts monthly meeting for service providers. We are able to network for outreach and VITA referrals.

Disability Outreach Offering Resources thru Services (DOORS)

DOORS Program has generated several volunteer referrals for use at the regular VITA sites DARS (Texas Department of Assistive and Rehabilitative Services) program has agreed to support VITA and Outreach services to the community with support and guidance on meeting reasonable accommodation requirements.
