Disability Initiative Workgroup Members
Goodwill
Goodwill will market the VITA sites established through the Wayne County Asset Building Coalition, they are also trying to recruit individuals to be greeters at the various VITA sites.
The Arc
The State Office will distribute list of free tax preparation sites as well as other outreach material.
United Way
United Way is using their vast volunteer data base to recruit volunteers to work at the various VITA sites in Wayne County. They are also working to develop marketing material to be distributed at locations frequent by veteran and disabled individuals.
Mayors Office - Office on Disability
The liaison from the Mayor’s Office has agreed to be involved in outreach and media campaigns.
Veteran’s Administration Hospital
An initial discussion has been held with the volunteer recruiter for VA Hospital on recruiting disabled veterans as VITA volunteers next year.
