Goodwill

Goodwill/Easter Seals is interested in providing information on EITC and volunteer tax prep sites to staff and clients during the filing season. Information will be provided via informational brochures. EITC brochures to help educate those that qualify on the existence of the credit, and site brochures to inform on the availability of free tax preparation.

AccountAbility Minnesota and AARP

AccountAbility Minnesota and AARP MN 1 & 2 are taking an active role in assisting persons with disabilities with the preparation of their tax returns. Both organizations go out to group homes, senior citizen centers, assisted living centers, etc. to assist with tax return prep. They also, in some instances, have group home coordinators collect tax return information from their residents and bring the information into selected sites to have the returns prepared. Both organizations count the number of taxpayers assisted. AccountAbility has a question asking about disabilities included on their intake sheet while AARP hand writes on their intake sheet the taxpayers response to a verbal question on disabilities.
